Opore said he was dissatisfied with a ruling that was delivered on February 27.

The soft-spoken former MP said Oyioka was not validly elected and he used the back door to have his win upheld by the court.

“The people of Bonchari have pushed me to appeal against Oyioka’s petition win. I want the court of appeal in Kisumu to tell the constituents the truth because Oyioka didn’t win August 8, 2017, free and fair according to the election laws,” he said.

He faulted a section of residents who have been asking him to drop the appeal.

“Abanchari have trust in me and that is why I have taken a step to appeal against Oyioka’s win. I will use the legal means to have Oyioka removed from power because he imposed himself on the people of Bonchari,” he noted.

Opore defended his performance record in the last 15 years in the constituency.

“For the 15 years I have served as Bonchari MP, constituents have benefited from free electricity connection, renovation of schools and hospitals across the constituency, upgrade of feeder roads, free and fair CDF bursary allocation among other development projects I initiated which are yet to be complete,” said the politician.

Opore was speaking at his Riana home on Sunday.
