Speaking in Eldoret, Ruto vowed to continue popularizing his CCM party across the country in readiness for 2017 polls.

This comes after the party that sponsored him in 2013, United Republican Party (URP) is set to fold and join Jubilee Party in the forthcoming launch.

"CCM has already opened 37 offices in the country and is still working round the clock to come up with more offices that will help strengthen the party. This will also enable us field a host of candidates from County Assemblies to the national seats come 2017 polls," said Ruto.

Ruto has been receiving criticism from the Deputy President William Ruto's supporters who have viewed the move by the Bomet governor as betrayal considering he defected from URP, a party that sponsored him in 2013.

One of the notable criticisers of Ruto is Sotik MP Joyce Laboso who has also given her bid to run for Bomet gubernatorial seat in 2017 polls.

She has called on Ruto to join Jubilee Party as Bomet is going to elect a Jubilee Party candidate for Bomet governor in 2017.
