Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has dismissed claims that he will defect to NASA when it holds its first rally in his home turf on Saturday.
Ruto told the Nation on the phone that people should stop speculating, adding that he will host the opposition leaders as they seek to promote democracy.
“The claims that I will join NASA are incorrect. People are just speculating. I have not made such a statement,” Ruto said.
On Thursday, a local daily reported that the Chama Cha Mashinani party leader would join NASA when it holds its rally in Bomet this weekend.
NASA chief executive Norman Magaya had told the Star that Ruto would officially join the political outfit.
“I can tell you without a doubt that we are reading from the same script with Isaac and he loves this country,” Magaya said.
Governor Ruto, a former DP William Ruto ally said he was ready to welcome any presidential candidate seeking votes in the South Rift region.
