Machakos Senatorial aspirant Jackson Musyoka Kala has assured Former Vice president Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka that he will deliver the seat during the forthcoming general polls.
Kala, who was appointed to replace Senator Johnson Muthama, said that he is confident that he will beat his opponents by a huge margin in August.
“I thank the party leadership for granting me such an opportunity and I promise I will not let the party down. We will campaign in all corners of the county to ensure we deliver the seat to the party in the August elections,” he said, as quoted by Standard.
Wiper Secretary-General Omar Hassan has, however, said that he is not aware of Muthama’s replacement after the Senator fell out with his party boss.
“I am not aware of the decision at all. I will ask you to consult the party’s chairperson of the National Elections Board for further details,” said Mr Omar.
Muthama’s decision not to defend his seat in August has continued to attract mixed reactions from different parties. On his part, Kalonzo has affirmed that he has nothing personal against Muthama following their differences.
He, however, rubbished claims that he colluded with other leaders in the party to mark ballot papers to award Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti a ticket.
