Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has exuded confidence in recapturing his seat during the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking on Monday shortly after presenting his nomination papers to IEBC, the Ford Kenya Party leader bragged that he would still win the seat even without actively campaigning for it.
He said he will now shift his focus to campaigning for Opposition alliance NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
"I will concentrate on campaigning for NASA throughout the country to ensure we send the corrupt Jubilee regime home," he said.
"Let him brave himself for an uphill task; this will be the mother of all battles and I am sure I will trounce him," he added in a clear response to his rival Bonny Nyongesa.
Nyongesa is seeking to unseat Wetang'ula on an ODM Party ticket.
Journalist David Makali is also eyeing the Senate seat on the Amani National Congress Party ticket.
