Siaya Senator James Orengo has denied meeting Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu and Supreme Court Judge Justice Isaac Lenaola during the hearing of the presidential petition

Orengo was mentioned in a petition filed by Derrick Ngumu claiming that the lawmaker canvassed with Supreme Court judge at the time.

However, in a quick rejoinder, the senator denied meeting any of the judges, terming the petition as 'scandalous' and 'utter nonsense.'

"In my career I have never approached a judge in the court rooms or in their chambers seeking any favour. This petition should be treated with the contempt that it deserves," he said during a press briefing on Tuesday.

"If I were to meet deputy chief justice Muilu in the streets and without her robes, I would not even recognise her," he added.

He asserted that the only judges he knew personally were Njoki Ndungu, Jackton Ojwang, and Mohammed Ibrahim who he had met either through school or when they were practicing as lawyers.

The petitioner is seeking for the removal of the two judges.
