Top Jubilee leadership has criticised reports that the International Criminal Court (ICC) plans to revive the crime against humanity charges, against President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
This is after ICC senior lawyer, Anton Steynberg, said the Hague-based court expects a new regime in Kenya, to cooperate in the case against kenyatta and Ruto.
The two cases flopped, for lack of sufficient evidence, freeing the trio, who were accused of funding the 2007/2008 Post-Election Violence.
Accompanied by Ruto, during a Jubilee Party campaign in Nandi County, Uhuru accused the Opposition's Nasa, of being behind the reviving of the cases against them, saying Nasa's plan is to ensure they are jailed.
He asked Nandi residents, and Kenyans at large, to vote them in, for them to complete their development, in their second term.
"The ICC cases will not in any way better the livelihoods of millions of Kenyans. We should focus on improving the lives of our citizens," Uhuru said, Monday.
"As we are negotiating for projects like the standard gauge railway, they (Nasa) are negotiating to have ICC cases against us revived if they take power," he added.
