Jubilee Party has been criticised for re-introducing the ICC debate in the country as a campaign issue meant to whip up emotions.Lawyer Joshua Kipruto has said that ICC narrative will hardly sell in this electoral year given that people now know who tried to fix who and with Isaac Rutto in NASA, it won't be blamed on Raila. He added that by bringing back the ICC debate by Jubilee, maybe be interpreted by some as lack of agenda saying that at this juncture the topic is just 'hollow and lacks substance'."ICC is not a factor because the cases were conclusively done. The cases are now done and dusted. JP should give us a break on this matter and address pertinent issues like the nurses' strike and Unga. "A drowning man always clings to a straw. DP Ruto shud know that electorates are awake. The ICC issue is past time and can't propel Jubilee campaigns again. 2017 elections are different from 2013. It is very unfortunate that Jubilee has revived the ICC cases as campaign strategy," said Kipruto on Tuesday during NTV's morning show. He, however, noted that Jubilee had sought to make ICC a campaign issue as even in their strongholds there are questions especially on cost of living."ICC is a poisoned chalice to them (Jubilee) because the question will be why did it take this long? Look at what happened in Kisii, the gesture may have been good but politically it didn't win them plaudits," he added.
