Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichungwa has denied claims that he is among jubilee members calling for the sacking of Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru over alleged corruption.

Speaking to journalists in Kikuyu town on Monday, Ichungwa distanced himself from the reports saying that he has not supported removal or sacking of Waiguru.

The MP said that he has not expressed his opinion over the corruption allegations at the Devolution Ministry.

Ichungwa accused a section of leaders who he did not name of dragging his name on the Waiguru matter.

“It is not true as being reported by a section of the media that I am among Jubilee legislators supporting the sacking of Anne Waiguru,” he said.

The Kikuyu MP urged the media to be objective in their reporting and stop linking leaders with comments they have not made.

A section of leaders from both the Jubilee government and the opposition have called for resignation of Waiguru over corruption allegations that have rocked her ministry.

Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter is collecting signatures from legislators to initiate an impeachment motion against Devolution Cabinet Secretary.

Waiguru’s ministry has been under-fire for the last few months with allegations of corruption and misuse of public resources.

The CS who appeared before the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) last week defended herself against the alleged corruption.
