Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa on Sunday made known his political ambitions to his constituents saying he is happy to serve them in his current position.
Speaking at the St Marks ACK Kidfarmaco, he said he was satisfied with serving the residents in his capacity as MP.
“I have heard talk from the grapevine that I intend to vie for the Kiambu governor’s position in the next elections. This is not true. I am happy to continue serving the people of Kikuyu in my capacity as MP,” said Ichung’wa.
He made it clear that in 2017 he would vie as MP again, and asked the residents to support him. He also asked the constituents to vote overwhelmingly for the presidency of Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017.
“Just as you did in 2013, come out in large numbers and support Uhuru Kenyatta win the presidency in 2017 by voting for Jubilee,” said MP Ichung’wa.
He encouraged those who were not registered voters to register with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) when the exercise begins.
For local development, MP Ichung’wa asked residents to form associations through which they can lobby for development that included lighting and road tarmacking among others.
He was at the church to support towards purchase of a plot and construction of a permanent church building and gave Sh180,000.
He had earlier given a donation of Sh300,000.
