Kikuyu MP Ichungwa Kimani has vowed to support orphans and those left in various children homes by funding their education and helping them improve their living standards.
Speaking in Kikuyu town when he toured the road construction on Thursday, Ichungwa expressed his concerns over children living in poor conditions with no one to turn to and support them in matters of education.
He said that he is keen in sponsoring various children homes in Kikuyu to validate their dreams, which were shuttered either by absentee parents or fate, which could not be avoided.
The MP said that after coming from the USA last week, he has gained willpower that has driven his emotions in sponsoring the various children’s homes with food, clothes and good environment suit for the up bringing of a child.
Kimani has condemned parents who neglect their children in the street or dump them in unknown areas, terming it as inhuman and lack of care and said they will soon launch a crackdown on such parents.
He added that in partnership with the county government of Kiambu, they will ensure children living in orphanages have better lives to save the future generation in line with vision 2030.
The legislator however lauded the guardians at various children’s homes who have dedicated their lives in saving innocent souls from the street by giving them food, water shelter and clothes terming them as good Samaritans sent from above despite the harsh conditions of inadequate supply of resources to cater for their needs.
