Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa has hit out at NASA leader Raila Odinga over his claims that telecommunication company, Safaricom allegedly delayed transmission of presidential election results in the bungled August 8 presidential poll.

Ichung’wa alleges that Raila wants to scare and cause friction between investors and the government through malicious claims.Speaking to journalists on Thursday at the Parliament Buildings in Nairobi, the Kikuyu lawmaker said that it is ironical that Odinga is blaming Safaricom yet he has been using the company’s pay bill Number to collect money from Kenyans.“We will not allow Raila Odinga to malign and soil the name of corporate investors in the name of fighting for reforms,” he said as quoted by the Standard. The MP asked Odinga to provide evidence that Safaricom delayed results transmission in the August 8 bungled presidential election. He accused the opposition of fueling anxiety and tension in the country with aim of scaring away investors. The MP claimed that NASA wasn’t to cause economic sabotage in the country through mass protests. On Tuesday, Odinga alleged that Safaricom, which was contracted by IEBC to transmit election results delay the transmission. The former Prime Minister (PM) alleged that the delay transmission created room for manipulation of the results at the IEBC national tallying centre.Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, however, dismissed Odinga’s claims terming them untrue and malicious.
