Kikuyu Member of Parliament, Kimani Ichung'wa has announced that he will sponsor the top three best KCPE performers from his constituency for their first year in high school.
This comes as the country awaits the release of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education on Wednesday,
Speaking at Give Hope Hall where women gathered to receive business funds from the MP, Ichung'wa said there were many top performers who failed to join high schools because of finances.He said this year, he intends to make a stop to that by giving a one-year sponsorship to top three students in the constituency.
Ichung'wa revealed that the students would be the future of the nation and if invested in the community and the nation would benefit.
He offered to cater for their school fees, shopping and anything they will need for their first year in high school.
"I will sponsor the best three performers in Kikuyu Constituency in the KCPE results and I also want to urge organisations and other leaders in the country to embrace this kind of educational sponsorship to best performers to encourage hardwork in schools," said Ichung'wa.
He urged organisations and companies to embrace such opportunities to encourage hard work in schools. He also said that by doing so,they will help many poor families that couldn't afford further education.
