Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa has said the contractor rehabilitating roads in Kikuyu Town should hasten the work failure to which legal action would be taken against him.
Ichungwa gave the contractor till December to finalise the work.
Speaking on Friday at Kikuyu Town, during a development tour, Ichungwa expressed his dissatisfaction with the rehabilitation process.
“We are not happy with the pace of road rehabilitation by the contractor,” said Ichungwa.
Ichungwa said that the delay in completion of the roads would retard business activities in the town.
“The slow pace of rehabilitation of roads will not impact positively on the development of business in Kikuyu town,” said Ichungwa.
Kikuyu MCA Binary Wainaina supported the MP's remarks stating that rehabilitation of the roads needs to be completed soon.
“The contractor has taken too long to complete the rehabilitation of the roads,” said Wainaina.
The ward representative said that the town is in deplorable state and urged the contractor to honour the terms of the agreement.
He however urged residents to be patient with the contractor and give him ample time to complete the rehabilitation.
He also urged residents to stop accusing politicians for sins being committed by contractors.
