Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa has asked youths in the area to keep off people who want to use them as agents of violence and instead support development.
Addressing residents at Kikuyu town on Wednesday, Ichung'wa said that youths fall vulnerable to selfish individuals who use them to advance their evil agendas.
The MP told youths to be cautious especially this electioneering period as some people would want to misuse them.
“Young people should be aware that there are some people who are known for using youths as agents of violence and should avoid them completely,” said the MP.
Ichung'wa urged youths to stop associating with bad elements and instead support development.
He urged law agencies to be alert and take action against individuals who use young people to cause violence.
Ichung'wa said is preparing a motion in Parliament to have more security deployed to counties ahead of the 2017 general elections.
The MP alleged that some leaders in some counties were planning to use young people as agents of violence.
Meanwhile, the MP has urged young people who have not registered as voters to do in the ongoing exercise.
The MP vowed to rally behind locals to register as voters before the exercise ends on March 15.
