The Kenya section of International Commission of Jurist (ICJ) on Sunday called for all Kenyans to come out on Monday to celebrate the very important Human Rights Day.
The ICJ Chairman, Kelvin Mogeni, said that during the celebration they will as commissioners unveil 2017 jurist of the year among Kenyan jurists.
According to the commission, the award will be meant to acknowledge, recognize and encourage the outstanding jurist who has consistently, fearlessly and impartially contributed to the promotion of rule of law and human rights.
“Let’s celebrate Human Rights Day. Tomorrow We will unveil 2017 Jurist of the Year to acknowledge, recognize, and encourage an outstanding jurist who has consistently, fearlessly and impartially contributed to promotion of the rule of law,” said Mogeni via the commissions official twitter.
The commission also noted that urgent action was needed by all stakeholders in the justice chain to ensure the poor aren't unfairly targeted.
