Uasin Gishu county government and I Choose Life Africa(ICL-Africa) have developed the Kapatagat Vision 2020 Strategic Plan for fast growth in infrastructure, education and health.
Speaking on Friday in Kaptagat at Katuiyo Dispensary, Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago urged the national government and the local community to preserve Kaptagat Forest and other natural resources in the county.
"Kaptagat Forest for it is our water tower. I am taking this opportunity to urge even the government and the local community to preserve Kaptarakwa Forest and other water catchment areas. With this strategic plan, we have a six-pillar planning infrastructure, trade and industrialisation, water, education and health," said Mandago.
He added that Kaptagat is the first ward, but others will follow.
I Choose Life Africa CEO Mike Mutungi said that they are currently serving 23 counties to help them come up with strategic plans like that with Kaptagat being the first to have completed it.
Due to this, it will be used as a pilot for their other projects.
The strategic plan cost Sh50 million.
