Ms Ida Odinga insists her husband; Raila Odinga has a cordial working relationship with DP William Ruto despite being in opposing sides.
Despite working together for a couple of years, the two politicians find themselves in bitter political rivalry which at time goes personal.
And to dispel the claims, Ida says the two often call each other and share light moments despite rarely sharing political stage.
“William is our son and student. He is a good family friend and at time I think the political war between him and Raila is exaggerated.
“They are student and teacher and that is a perfect relationship. A student often consults is master and that is what they do often,” she said.
In 2007, Ruto supported Odinga’s but denounced him five years later when he joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp.
Recently at a funeral in Kajiado, the two met and exchanged light moments before meeting again at Kasarani stadium during IAAF championship.
