NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga’s wife Ida Odinga on Saturday held a rally in Nairobi's Kilimani where she asked the women to support Raila in the August 8 polls.
Addressing hundreds of women who attended the Kilimani Primary rally in Dagorreti North Constituency, Ms Odinga assured the women that she was doing her very last campaign for Raila to take over at State House.
“I appeal to my fellow women to give him this last chance,” said Ida. “Even God is hearing me from heaven. Vote for NASA to form the next government and change the lives of Kenyans," she said.
"Women who contribute 55 per cent of those who vote, should rally others to support us and also be vigilant in protecting the votes cast,” she added.
She apologised to the women for her low profile for a while now, saying she ought to have come up when things did not go well in the ODM party nominations.
“I ask for forgiveness. I know there are those who looked for me even during the nominations but didn’t find me. Things didn’t go well in the nominations and women especially were shortchanged because the exercise was disorganised,” she said.
