Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s wife, Ida, has sent Deputy President William Ruto a message ahead of next week’s general election.
In a televised interview, Mrs Odinga told Ruto to be grateful because he was “trained” by the opposition leader.
The DP was a close ally of Raila before they fell out during the Grand Coalition government.
Ida said Ruto was a product of Raila’s making, and it is those “vitendawili” that trained him.
The Jubilee Party leader has been referring to Raila as “yule jamaa wa vitendawili” in public functions and political rallies.
"Every time you say 'kitendawili', people pay attention, they want to hear what is coming next. But if you're just giving lectures and warning people ... that is not leadership. People get scared of you. Look at the lighter side of life," Ida said on NTV, Wednesday.
She exuded confidence her husband, Raila, will emerge victorious in the presidential election to be held Tuesday next week.
"I have never been too sure like I am right now ... I'm sure this is the time. Over the years, Raila has been craving to make Kenya a better country and I'm sure and I know he can do it," she said.
