Ida who spoke to a local daily on Sunday said marriages, sometimes, succeed or fail depending on how good a woman is in the kitchen.

She said girls of today don't love cooking and this to a larger extent has contributed to the rise in divorce cases.

"Young girls of today don’t want to follow in their mothers’ footsteps," she said during the interview at her Spectre East Africa offices in Nairobi.

"Most of them don’t like cooking, for example. Suddenly, they find themselves in marriages yet they can’t prepare food for their husbands or children. What follows? Divorce, obviously."

She said youth, today, take marriage for a ride and majority don't understand that it is a journey that is filled with happiness as well as pain, sometimes.

Ida, a teacher by profession said she has never allowed her husband, Raila to cook in he presence because she understands that it's her duty to prepare food for him.

"The issue of running my kitchen is mine, not my husband’s. I wouldn’t expect him to go and cook. We tried things when we were young and it failed,' she said.
