Nyumba Kumi officials in Nyaribari Chache Constituency have been called upon to initiate unity among residents and above all give guidance on how the community should interacts.
Speaking at Birongo ward on Sunday area Member of Parliament Richard Tong'i said there was a need to ensure that the community has the unity that used to exist during the old days as the country we head to general elections.
The Legislator warned parents who do not take their children to school of arrest, saying he would use the Nyumba Kumi Initiative to ensure all children accessed education.
“Since we are enjoying peace in most parts of Kisii county we need to use the Nyumba Kumi Initiative to identify parents who do not take their children to school and have them arrested,” he added
He added that he there was a need for the officers to arrest children found loitering in the streets during school days who would, in turn, be made to identify their parents.
There has been an outcry over the high number of children in the county who were engaging in hawking business instead of going to school particularly in Kisii town.
The Mp urged parents to take their children to school, saying education is the most important inheritance that parents could bequeath their children.
