A section of IDPs from Kisii and Nyamira counties have hailed the sentiments that were made by President Uhuru during the thanksgiving prayer meeting in Nakuru at the weekend.
Led by Patrick Akama, they said that they were going to work with the government in identifying genuine IDPs.
The IDPs have now challenged the government to strengthen its measures of identifying genuine IDPs since they have been suffering due to some individuals who take an advantage of benefiting themselves.
“We are proud of the sentiments which were made by the president that they are going to have measures in place of identifying genuine IDPs," said Akama.
"For real we are suffering because of some people who call themselves IDPs while they are not,” he added.
“It is bad when someone takes the advantage of IDPs resources while they are not, we want the government to have measures in place which will help us,” said Akama.
