Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has asked security agencies in Nakuru County to arrests impostors defrauding IDPs.
Ngunjiri said failure by police to act on a cartel of people posing as government representatives has left many IDPs coned.
"The fraudsters operating under cover in Nakuru, Molo and Naivasha are demanding Ksh 10,000 to 20,000 from the IDPs displaced by the 2007-2008 post-poll violence with a promise of having their names on a list of persons to be awarded reparations by the government, which does not happen," he said.
Speaking Monday in his Bahati Constituency, Ngunjiri said the registration exercise for integrated IDP`S is a responsibility of the office of the president and state department for devolution and the two cannot cede authority to register IDPs to brokers.
The MP also asked area security agencies to break rings of land brokers in the county. He said the brokers are defrauding the widows their pieces of land.
