Internally displaced persons in Nakuru marked the acquaintance of President Uhuru Kenyatta from the ICC with song and dance.
Led by The national IDP Chairman Peter kariuki, they moved along the Nakuru Highway in celebration of the acquaintance, singing songs of praise to God.
“We feel that justice has been served. All the wrong people were the ones who were taken before ICC. We would like the ones who were really responsible for the violence to be charged,” he argued.
He cited that the cases had too much toil on the president.
“He could not be able to carry out with his national duties and the emotional turmoil was too much. In fact, we feel that the ICC was out to intimidate him and his seat as the president of Kenya. Now he will be able to serve the people better. He will now have peace of mind,” cited Kariuki.
Kariuki argued that Uhuru now needed to focus more on development.
“He now does not have anything tying him and hence no excuse if he underperforms in any part of his leadership,” he added
Another IDP, Jane Wambugu said that the move indicated that ICC as a court could not arbitrate cases well enough.
“We are wondering if they can be able to deliver true justice. This is a clear indication that they were just witch hunting. Kenyan law courts would have been able to handle the issue better,” she added
