Internally Displaced Persons in Nakuru are angry with Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru over her recent statement that there was no money for their resettlement.
The IDPs said the government had allocated money for their resettlement but to date, there were people still languishing at IDP camps.
Speaking to the press in Nakuru on Friday, the IDPs' chairman Peter Kariuki said they would demonstrate to force the government resettle them.
“We are calling on Waiguru to show how the money, which was given out by then Finance Minister Uhuru Kenyatta was spent," he said.
"The money was enough to resettle all the 12,000 families that were displaced during the violence.”
Mr Kariuki said almost all IDPs in Nakuru were not resettled.
“Only 4,500 of the 12,000 families have been compensated. They government had proposed that each IDP would receive Sh600,000. However, most of the IDPs have not received money,” said Kariuki.
Mr Kariuki also called for the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission to investigate the leaders involved.
