The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has been accused of altering poll results in Ukambani during the August General exercise.

In a sworn affidavit, Chama Cha Uzalendo Chief Agent Samuel Mulei told the court that he came across IEBC officials altering the election results at the Kithima tallying Center. He was speaking during the hearing of Former Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo’s election, which was presided over by Justice Aggrey Muchelule.

I found forms being altered at the tallying center. There were a few people. I was with one of the witnesses who has sworn an affidavit, he said, as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.

He also told the court that the CCU agents were not given an opportunity to sign the election forms when it came to the transmission of results. Through his lawyer, Mwangangi said that the polling station diaries have information on what took place during the election. The former lawmaker confirmed that the court is cross examining the kits at the stations.

The hearing of the petition comes at a time when President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are expected to take an oath of office today.
