IEBC has added one more presidential candidate to the October 26 repeat polls.
Cyrus Shaghalaga Khwa Jirongo, according to IEBC commissioner Abdi Guliye, argued successfully against his omission from the list and the court ordered his inclusion to the list of contestants.
The commercial court declared Jirongo bankrupt after it found out that he was not able to pay his debt. His estates, according to the court were supposed to be placed under receivership.
The court found out that he could not pay Sh700 million he owes a number of companies hence declared him bankrupt. This rendered him unfit to run for any public office despite the fact that he had run for the presidency the first round.
Jirongo's name has been slotted in despite the fact that IEBC had said ballot papers are ready and will arrive in the country by Saturday night.
