The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has been allowed to proceed with evaluation of firms that are seeking to supply ballot papers for the 8 August General Election.
The High Court issued the directive after lifting a directive by the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board (PPARB) that had stopped the process.
High Court Judge George Odunga issued the interim orders in a case filed under a certificate of urgency.
“In the meantime, further proceedings with a view to implementing the Review Board’s decision be and are hereby stayed,” he stated.
Odunga further directed that the file and proceedings from the board be placed before him Thursday .
“Upon reading the supporting affidavit of Cecil James Oyugi sworn on 23rd May 2017 together with the annexture thereto and upon hearing counsel for the petitioner/Applicant expert, it is hereby ordered that the Tribunal file be availed before this court on 25th May 2017 for hearing and for further orders,” he stated.
