[Photo| Courtesy]The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has sent a draft budget to the Ministry of Finance, asking for funds to conduct the fresh presidential election on October 17.Chairman Wafula Chebukati said the Commission had prepared timelines with key milestones that will help in election preparedness, with the funds overseeing the implementation of key tasks, particularly targeting ICT and training.In a statement, Friday, he said IEBC expects the Treasury to expeditiously allocate the funds, given that they were working under timelines.“Candidates must ensure their agents are well-versed with the technology and are urged to finalise the list of the polling station, constituency tallying centre and the national tallying centre before October 3," Chebukati further urged political parties.In the election, only two candidates, Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga would face each other at the ballot box.This is after the Supreme Court annulled President Kenyatta's August 8 win, over irregularities in the election.
