Three candidates have so far been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to vie for Kitui West parliamentary seat.

Edith Vethi Nyenze was the third to be clear today at Matinyani in Kitui West.

She was accompanied by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and several MPs and senators elected under the party.

Mrs. Nyenze held several rallies at Matinyani and Kabati markets after she was cleared to vie in the by-election that was occasioned by the demise of her husband, Francis Nyenze.

The Wiper leaders vowed to grand her maximum support to ensure that she wins the seat.

Speaking during a public rally at Kwa Mukoma playgrounds, NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka said that the time for dialogue has already lapsed and the Jubilee government should be ready for the "worst".

Kalonzo wondered why the Jubilee administration has been so reluctant in engaging the opposition in dialogue, yet it’s clear that the country is ailing.

The former vice president said he was tired of being used as the mediator whenever chaos emerges in the country and that he won’t relent NASA’s quest for justice.
