Former Kakamega County representative at the Senate Boni Khalwale says the three commissioners, Consolata Nkatha Maina, Paul Kurgat and Margaret Mwachanya could not have left their plum jobs without being pushed out of office.

"This was not an act of integrity on the part of those commissioners who resigned," Khalwale said on Twitter.

"Either they were asked to step aside by the powers that be or they were sacked."

Nkatha, Kurgat, and Mwachanya quit their respective jobs at the IEBC after accusing the electoral agency's chairman Wafula Chebukati of being high handed and taking a side while making key decisions at the State agency.

There have been claims that the three were against Chebukati's leadership at the IEBC and always sided with embattled IEBC Chief Executive who is on forced leave Ezra Chiloba.

Khalwale said the departure of the three was long overdue after they messed up the August 8 presidential election outcome leading to Post Election Violence that led to the death of more than 50 people.

On Monday, he said the three should not have left office without telling Kenyans who killed former IEBC Information Technology chief Dr Chris Msando who was killed shortly before the August 8 general polls.
