Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission of Kenya commissioners have officially resigned.

The commissioners, led by Isaack Hassan, tendered their notice to President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday, October 4 evening.

Despite their resignation, the commissioners shall have to remain in office till a new body is up to succeed them to avoid a vacuum hence constitutional crisis.

This is less than a week duration given by Cord Principal Raila Odinga after which nationwide demonstrations would be staged.
