Nine commissioners from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) are set to be grilled over corruption allegations.
The nine officers are set to appear before the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee to clear the air over reports that implicates them in corruption scandals.
Those expected before the committee are Issack Hassan, Lilian Mahiri-Zaja, Mohammed Alawi and Thomas Letangule , Albert Bwire, Kule Godana, Yusuf Nzibo, Abdullahi Sharawe and Muthoni Wangai.
The committee had earlier threatened to withhold the IEBC budget unless the commissioners satisfactorily responded to allegations in the report by the House Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
"We cannot continue approving money when allegations are hanging over their heads. We are however aware that denying them money will lead to serious disruption. The only way to avoid this is for them to come and clear the air over the allegations facing them," said John Mbadi.
According to a statement from the committee, each commissioner will take individual responsibility for allegations contained in the report whose content is yet to be debated by the National Assembly.
Last week the commission's CEO, Ezra Chiloba and vice-chair efforts to represent the commission were thwarted after they were turned away by the committee.
The grilling comes amid calls by the opposition to disband the commission over a number of misconduct including corruption allegations.
