Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Wafula Chebukati fighting fear internal rebellion with few days to repeat presidential polls, reports the Sunday Nation.

The commission is facing uncertainty with the opposition team under Raila Odinga demanding radical changes before the repeat poll.

But even with the pressure from politicians, Chebukati is said to be facing rebellion from four commissioners who are aid to be drifting on different direction in weighty policy issues.

Those who are said to be giving Chebukati hard times are Paul Kurgat, Consolata Maina, Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye with sources claim that they hold brief for certain politicians.

Only Roselyne Akombe and Margret Mwachanya are said to be in support of the embattled chair that also may have his powers trimmed should Jubilee legislators pass controversial election laws.

Under the proposals in the laws, the quorum of commissioners has been reduced to three with any commissioner allowed to announce presidential results in absence of the chairman.

Amid the internal and external pressure, Chebukati has however remained hopeful that elections will be held as earlier announced.
