The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) says it has already trained Returning Officers and their deputies ahead of Tuesday's general election.

IEBC Uasin Gishu County coordinator Jackton Nyonje further says training for the clerks begins Thursday.

Speaking to the press at the Eldoret National Polytechnic on Wednesday during the Results Transmission System simulation Nyonje said they are ready for the elections.

"Once we are done with the training, the officers will be deployed on their various stations across the county ready for the polls," said Njonye.

"We have already received most of the elections materials and the packaging are being done at the constituency stores," he added.

On his part the Commission's ICT officer in the county Brian Chemoten assured that all the electronic devices to be used during the voter identification and results transition are in good conditions.

"We've tested everything and confirmed that we are ready for the task ahead. We don't expect any difficulties in this county because network coverage is almost 100 percent," he said.
