Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of ignoring anomalies in the ongoing mass voter listing.
Junet warned that the country will not allow another bungled election in August, and called on the IEBC to act divisively on the issues raised during the current voter listing exercise.
"What is happening in this country currently is very unfortunate. We have raised many issues with the IEBC and their policy is to deny everything without even taking a day to investigate," he told NTV's AMLive show on Wednesday morning.
"You cannot lie to Kenyans that there's nothing wrong with voter listing process while there is enough evidence that registration is going on in Eastleigh and South C. Documents were found in a hotel and were taken to Pangani police station and within two hours, the IEBC issues a statement that there is no course for alarm," he added.
The MP was also claimed that there were individuals who were even being registered without their knowledge and that the commission had no explanation for the occurrences.
"There is even an incident where I talked to a resident of Kisumu who walked to a registration centre to register only to find out he was already registered. He went to a polling station and was told he was already in the IEBC database. He went to them but they could not explain to him who registered him," Junet said.
