If you have today been active on social media especially on Facebook, you'll have come across a title on IEBC's chairman Wafula Chebukati's resignation from the commission.
IEBC has come out to explain these letters were all fake and not from the commission.
"The letter is not authentic and did not originate from the electoral body," said Tabitha Mutemi, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) manager in charge of communications and corporate affairs.
The commissions' boss has been undergoing a lot of pressure from the public and the commission itself after three commissioners resigned but say the commission is currently in its rightful place and state as constituted.
IEBC through their twitter handle has ruled out any rumors circulating concerning the commissioners' chair resignation and urges the public to make sure they follow reliable sources on matters concerning the country.
"We wish to state that the memo circulating on social media that @IEBCKenya chairman @WChebukati has resigned is fake," she added.
