[Photo|PSCU]The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Commissioner Abdi Guliye clarified why there was result transmission from Kisumu county, despite residents not participating in the fresh presidential election held on October 26.During an update at the National Tallying Centre, Bomas of Kenya on October 28, Guliye confirmed there were results from the Nyanza region county on the IEBC website. He told the press there was transmission of results from Kisumu West and Muhoroni constituencies.“Actually in some polling stations elections took place, and one of these is Kisumu West and another in Muhoroni. So for those polling stations where there was voting, there will be valid transmissions," Guliye said.During declaration of President Uhuru Kenyatta as the president elect, IEBC chairman on Monday said he garnered 886 votes from Kisumu county. This is despite the Commission's announcement that it had postponed election in four counties; Kisumu, Migori, Homa Bay and Siaya citing cases of violence.
