The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has included former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo in the list of presidential candidates ahead of the Thursday repeat polls.
The former lawmaker's name was earlier omitted by the electoral agency after it emerged that he was bankrupt.
A High Court sitting in Nairobi declared Jirongo bankrupt, after it established that he could no longer finance his loans.
Article 137 of the Constitution bars a person declared bankrupt from running for the presidency.
However, Jirongo successfully challenged Justice Olga Sewe's ruling.
The United Democratic Party presidential candidate now joins President Uhuru Kenyatta, NASA leader Raila Odinga alongside five other candidates who are eyeing the country's top seat.
Despite Opposition chief Raila Odinga announcing his withdrawal from the race, his name has nevertheless been included in the list of candidates.
He cited lack of electoral reforms within IEBC as reason for his withdrawal.
