IEBC has admitted to errors in results forms from the Nyamira governor race.
Through lawyer Jackson Nyamweya, the electoral agency said figures on forms 37A, B and C were "posted wrongly".But he said the errors were not intentional and all candidates were affected.
Nyamweya spoke during a hearing for a petition filed by Walter Nyambati challenging John Nyagarama's victory in the August 8 general election.
The lawyer told the Nyamira High Court on Monday that the errors were not meant to rob Nyambati off his victory.
But Nyambati has said the election was rigged in Nyagarama's favour. He accused IEBC officials of enabling irregularities in various polling stations.
Nyambati said during cross-examination that in 15 polling stations, there were more votes declared than the actual turnout. He has called for a recount and scrutiny of votes.
The politician said some of the polling stations entered the wrong results as final tally, citing Mosobeti primary school where results on form 37A indicated 383 instead of 385.
"For us to establish the root cause of the irregularities, we need to know what's in the ballot boxes," he said.]
The case will continue to be heard on Tuesday.
