Lawyer Florence Mwangangi, who was one of the interviewees grilled by the selection panel for the appointment of IEBC chairperson, has earmarked the diaspora vote as one of the key issues that she will address.
Speaking on Monday when she faced the selection panel, Mwangangi said there was need for the electoral body to involve Kenyans living in the diaspora in the electoral process, arguing that they also have a right to actively participate in the country's elections.
"I will address the issue of Kenyans in the diaspora because I believe it is their right to vote and contribute in decisions that will affect them in the future," she said.
Mwangangi, a former Law Society of Kenya representative in the Judicial Service Commission is among ten shortlisted for the position of IEBC chair. The position attracted forty five applicants.
