All political parties have been invited for a special meeting by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The meeting is scheduled to happen on Wednesday, July 26.
Reports indicate the meeting is aimed at discussing rules concerning polling station agents.
IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba also noted the meeting will help clarify the number of agents each political party will need to have in each polling centre during the elections.
The meeting comes even as the National Super Alliance (Nasa) team has continued to maintain it will have at least five agents in each polling station so that they can protect their votes from being stolen.
Their initiative of adopting a polling station has however been criticised by both the Jubilee government and the electoral body who noted it is a recipe of chaos.
Acting interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i has also opposed the move saying it is the responsibility of IEBC and security details to protect the votes of the candidates.
“The protection of ballot is our responsibility with the IEBC and we have not asked anyone for help. Anyone who is not mentioned in the circular should be removed from the polling stations by all means possible,” Matiang’i said in a statement.
