The opposition has claimed that the continued stay in office of IEBC commissioners poses a threat to constitutional order and national security.
Through a petition by Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo expected to be filed at the High Court on Tuesday, Cord says that the IEBC commissioners have failed the standards of Chapter Six of the constitution on Leadership and Integrity.
"The commissioners have conducted themselves in a manner that not only contravenes the constitution but also threatens State security," reads Midiwo's petition.
Midiwo accuses the electoral body of open bias and favouritism towards the ruling Jubilee Coalition.
"It is the petitioner’s contention that the respondents have now made a decision to bar Cord from participating in the next general election for leading its supporters to protest against the respondents," states Midiwo.
The petition also seeks to have the court disband the IEBC on chickengate scandal allegations that saw the convictions of Smith and Ouzman officials in UK courts.
Cord also want IEBC disbanded based on the Public Accounts Committee Report that found the commissioners unsuitable to continue serving in their current positions as well as IEBC's dismissal of Okoa Kenya petition.
