According to one of the Cord co-principals, Kalonzo Musyoka, a number of IEBC commissioners have been making secret visits to the foreign country to seek technological aid on programming the BVR kits prior to 2017 to facilitate election tampering and rigging.

Kalonzo was speaking during the opposition's second public protests in Nairobi while demanding the immediate removal of the current commissioners from electoral duties before the forthcoming elections.

He was quick to refer to Deputy President William Ruto’s comment that the Jubilee coalition is going to win massively in 2017 as one of the indicators that the government in coalition with the IEBC commissioners are in a dirty deal. He further pointed out that it will be meaningless to participate in elections that were already predetermined by technology.

The opposition leaders further noted that the post-poll chaos that was witnessed in 2007/2008 were most likely to re-occur if the country's electoral agency was not cleaned in advance.
