[Photo: Courtesy]The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has joined the rest of the country, in mourning the death of Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Ole Nkaissery.
The CS died, Saturday at the Nairobi's Karen Hospital, where he was rushed to for medical check up, a statement from State House, said.
On behalf of the Commission, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, sent his heartfelt condolence to the friends, and family of the former Rtd General.
"The Commission joins the nation in mourning the death of Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Nkaissery. We send our deep condolences to the family, friends and the nation at large, during this difficult time," said Chebukati, hours after the sad news broke out.
During his address to the nation, at 10 am, from State House, President Uhuru Kenyatta called for calm in the country, saying Nkaissery had left a big vacuum, especially now that the country heads to a general election.
He appointed Eduaction Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i to replace Nkaissery, in an Acting capacity.
