The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has said it will announce measures to curb political intolerance during campaigns.
This comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta, DP William Ruto and Raila Odinga were heckled in Kisumu and Thika respectively.
IEBC is on Monday expected to announce measures it will take to curb the rising political intolerance seen recently in some parts of the country.
The polls body has sent a team of investigators to Kisumu, Kabarnet and Thika, where cases of heckling were witnessed last week.
The investigators are expected to release their findings today.
“The commission will take several measures, including fining offenders, suspending campaigns in the violence-prone areas and barring candidates from participating in the election,” IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said, as reported by The Nation.
