The Nairobi Returning Officer Mele Eroo has said the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has started distributing election materials in the county ahead of the August 8 General Election.
Eroo added that the commission is also training its staff on how to handle the materials.
"Non-strategic materials such as ballot boxes and stamps have been dispatched to the 17 sub-counties and by Sunday, we expect to have completed the distribution," said Eroo Tuesday as quoted by the Standard.
He further clarified that only one party agent will be allowed in each of the 3,378 polling stations for all the elective seats.
The RO made the revelations during a meeting with aspirants for governor, woman representative ans senator that was organized by the commission at Kasarani.
On his part, county police boss Japheth Koome assured all the candidates of security during and after the elections.
He said security has been boosted following cases of violence in some parts of the city.
"A detailed security plan has been adopted and it will include all security agencies," he said.
