On Monday, two IEBC officials are expected to appear before court after being charged with electoral malpractices.The two are accused of manipulating documents containing the general elections results.
According to reports, the officers were found altering documents from a tallying center in Nairobi. Officers in charge say 16 presidential ballot with results were destroyed during the Saturday incident.
When asked to present necessary paperwork for identification they claimed that they were IEBC officials therefore they were not required to produce such.
The two officials were arrested while trying to open boxes.
"They are booked at Embakasi police station," a presiding officer said.
According to reports, 85 people have been detained for electoral malpractices and 24 are IEBC officials.
On Friday, Keriako Tobiko who is the Director of Public Prosecutions stated is currently working on 70 similar cases.
Bribery, failure to perform an official duty, illegal possession of ballot papers, impersonation, and murder are on the list of cases he is working on.
