The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has extended the deadline for compliance to Electoral Campaign Financing Act by a day.
In a tweet published on the electoral body's Twitter account on Thursday, decision to push the deadline was arrived at following drama witnessed at IEBC's headquarters at Anniversary Towers with aspirants rushing to beat deadline to submit forms for Election Campaign Financing.
"Due to the high number of those seeking to comply with the ECF law we have now extended submission deadline to tomorrow Friday December 9," IEBC said in a tweet.
Both the opposition and Jubilee had earlier expressed concerns regarding the compliance deadline, with both political divides protesting against IEBC's timeline for the 2017 general elections.
